Our Purpose And What We Believe…

Our primary purpose at First Baptist Church – Linden is to reach our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

We believe the Bible to be the inerrant Word of God and that true happiness and eternal life can only be found by following what God’s Word has to say.

We believe that there is only one way to eternal life and that is through the atoning death of Jesus Christ upon the cross for our sins.

We believe that to receive eternal life you must respond to God’s call on your heart through faith in Jesus Christ.

First Baptist Church of Linden, TN, is a fellowship seeking to encounter and respond to the presence of God through worship, prayer, and bible study which provides guidance for the application of biblical truths. We seek to win the lost to faith in our Lord and Savior and minister to the needs of people in love and compassion in the name of Jesus Christ.

We affirm the Holy Bible as the inspired inerrant word of God and the basis for our beliefs. We subscribe to the doctrinal statement of the “The Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention.

We voluntarily join together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the Good News of salvation to lost mankind through obedience to Christ’s commission as stated in Matthew 28:19-20.

Our Staff

Keith Fulton, Pastor

Pastor Keith Fulton  is originally from east central Mississippi. He enlisted in The United States Marine Corps out of high school. He spent eight (8) years in The Corps serving at the American Embassy in Saigon, South Vietnam from December 1974 until its close in April 1975. His second posting was the American Embassy in Bogota, Columbia where he met and married Miss Barbara Morgenthaler of Euclid, Ohio in May of 1977. They had additional postings in North Carolina and Louisiana before returning to Philadelphia, Mississippi in 1982 after leaving the Marine Corps. They have two children, Daniel (Jessica) Fulton and Rachel (Shane) McGee, and five grandchildren.

Pastor Keith surrendered to the Gospel Ministry in 1984 and received his education at Clarke College, Mississippi College, and New Orleans Seminary. He served five churches in Neshoba and Leake counties in Mississippi, pastoring Mt. Carmel BC in Leake County, MS for 16 1/2 years before coming to First Baptist.

Pastor Keith began service at First Baptist Church of Linden on December 1st of 2012. He is committed to preaching the inerrant, infallible, and uncompromising Word of God. His message is that Jesus is the ONLY way to salvation and that Jesus is Lord.

Sue Holder, Ministry Assistant


Originally from Michigan, Sue moved to Linden with her family in 1987. She fell in love the people of Perry County and with the natural beauty of the county.

In Michigan, Sue worked in retail sales and as a Certified Medical Assistant. After moving to Linden, she co-founded Touch of Elegance, a prom and pagent retail store where she worked for eleven years. Sue has been a member of the Board of Directors and served as Secretary/Treasurer of the Perry County Humane Society.

In 1989, Sue became a member of First Baptist Church of Linden. She currently serves as Church Secretary and teaches Sunday School. In November of 2010 she became Director of the Church Ministry Perry County Food Bank.

Sue and her husband Ken have two grown children, Glen (wife Alicia) and Crystal (husband Matt). They have two grandchildren: Madeline and Meredith.
